School staff stop teen suicide attempt

A teenager's bid to commit suicide was thwarted by staff at Anatol Rodgers High School yesterday.

The 15-year-old is said to have tried to take his own life using a pair scissors but was quickly stopped by an administrator. However, he received some injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries and his condition are not known.

Eight-year-old student hit by car while walking from school

FREEPORT - Police are appealing to drivers to take extra care near school zones after an eight-year-old student was hit by a car on Monday while walking from school.
